As in the past, the Northern Plains Indian Arts Market showcases outstanding juried art created by Indigenous artists of the 33 Northern Plains Tribes. It provides buyers and collectors an opportunity to talk directly with the artists and to enjoy culturally relevant shows and demonstrations over the three-day event. Sinte Gleska University sponsers the market as well as a wacipi on Saturday evening. This is the 20th Northern Plains Art Market.
Established in 1974, The Indian Arts and Crafts Association (IACA) is a not-for-profit organization with an international membership of artists, retailers, wholesalers, museums, associations, government agencies, collectors and individual supporters -- all working together to promote, preserve and protect the arts and cultures of America's Indigenous people.

Semi-annual downtown gallery and studio art walk event. Our goal is to create an event which brings awareness of the rich visual arts experiences available in the downtown Sioux Falls community. Travel between venues via the free Sioux Falls trolley, drive your car, or walk if the weather cooperates! There is no charge for the event. Be sure to click the 'studio and gallery listing' link, then click on the thumbnail photo of an Indigenous man for a stunning example of Prairie Star art. (Due to scheduling conflicts, regretfully Prairie Star isn't able to participate in the September 2007 event.)
SculptureWalk is an outstanding, exciting exhibit of outdoor sculptures displayed year-around in downtown Sioux Falls. Artists place their sculptures in the program for one year, and all sculptures are promoted to the public for sale. Artists are eligible to win any of 14 awards in the Best of Show, People's Choice voting, and the random drawings. Awards total $25,000. Be sure to check out the beautiful 'Tuckered Out Angel' that we're fortunate to have directly in front of Prairie Star.
