About Us
Prairie Star Gallery
Below we're quoted an unsolicited review of our gallery by a Prairie Star Gallery customer from Chicago (from Yahoo's Travel site, dated June 2006).

5 Stars * * * * *

A friend who knows how much I appreciate authentic and fabulous Native American art work and crafts introduced me to the Prairie Star Gallery during a brief trip to the Sioux Falls area. The visit did not disappoint. What I found was a well-done array of artwork -- from pottery, carvings, drums, beadwork, and much more -- to a good selection of books. I appreciated the respect for the work and the artists shown by the gallery and I was amazed by the knowledge and expertise of the owner. I am so happy that I found this place. If I had only one shopping stop that I could make in Sioux Falls, I would, without hesitation, make it the Prairie Star Gallery.

Preserve the Past -
Stop in, and put the world on pause.  Then turn back time, if only momentarily, to an era unimaginable by today's technological standards: 125 years ago the phonograph had just been invented; the telegraph was about to be challenged by the more useful  telephone; carriages were conveyed by one or two horsepower; and, television and cell phones weren't even science fiction.

Our art comes from a time before the railroad and telegraph, when everything was hand-crafted from wood, hide, or stone and everyone was an artisan to some extent.  If you are one who recognizes that those days are to be treasured, and that this art is rare and becoming even more so, then you owe it to yourself to visit our historical gallery.

Our customers come from all 50 states and over 50 countries.  Many are so impressed they return again and again.  We depend on new customers becoming old friends, and we look to entice you also to become a loyal customer.   A major factor in our customers' time-tested loyalty is the consistent quality of our absolutely authentic art.  Another is the helpful knowledge we're able to provide about the artists, the art, and the cultures we represent.
